Wintringham on Wheels event: Locals encouraged to get on their bikes

With 9km of footpaths and cycleways being provided at Wintringham to explore the development and connect to the wider area, pedal power is a great way to get around!  To help those living in Wintringham and surrounding communities get on their bikes, Urban&Civic, master developer for Wintringham, is hosting a brand-new cycling event on the Plaza providing residents and visitors with a day of bike-themed fun!

Discover a range of e-bikes, tandems by taking them for a spin around the neighbourhood. Get all the family involved! There will be a range of children’s bikes available to hire for free. E-bikes can be hired for 1 hour by anyone over 14 years old (cycle helmet included) and is free for Wintringham residents. For visitors, e-bikes and standard tandem bikes will be £5 per hour and a tandem e-bike will be £10 per hour to hire.
Find out about local cycle routes and learn how to maintain your bike at a Dr Bike session hosted by Rutland Cycling – Bring your bike along to the drop-in Dr Bike session for an all-over maintenance check. It’s a great way to maintain your bicycle or turn a bike from unusable to road worthy. At 2pm, come along to a live demonstration and learn how to maintain your bike.

Please note when hiring a bike, you’ll need; To pay with a credit or debit card, an adult to book if you are under 16, to be responsible for the bike and hire equipment, to wear appropriate clothing: we recommend breathable, loose fit clothing, a couple of layers and a light showerproof jacket (we don’t recommend cycling in sandals or flip flops) show photo ID (driving license or passport) if you are hiring an electric bike.
