Wintringham, which forms part of a new eastern expansion to St Neots, recently welcomed its 100th family to the growing new community.

Kirsty and Adrian Bell and their two young children were living in St Neots and started to find their compact three-bedroom home a bit claustrophobic, especially working from home during the pandemic. When they looked round Wintringham, they fell in love with the place and found a four- bedroom home with Cala Homes, which suited their needs.

Kirsty said: “There is a strong feeling of community across Wintringham. With the street food events at the school plaza and the farmer’s market in St Neots on most Saturdays, there’s always something to do.

“For the kids, there’s a park just down the road from us with a lovely picnic area, and they can’t wait to go out and explore on weekends. We go for walks around the green spaces, and the two of them just run around for hours; rolling down hills and chasing each other whilst we sit on the green.

“Our son goes to Wintringham Primary Academy, which is based in an inspiring modern building, with plenty of natural daylight and opportunities for outdoor learning. There’s only a small number of students at the moment, so it’s great he won’t get lost going to a bigger school.

“We can’t wait for all our neighbours to move in and to see the development flourish over the summer!”

Rachel Arnold, Communications, Communities and Partnerships for Urban&Civic said: “It’s great to reach this milestone for the development and we’re so pleased to welcome the Bell family. The Community team work hard to ensure all families moving in have what they need and settle in well, and we have some great events over the summer to help them meet their new neighbours.

“It’s been a busy and exciting few months since our first residents moved in (November 2020) and with engagement just finished around our plans for the first District Centre for the new community – including shops, cafe, gym, community and health centre – the team continue to work hard on the exciting things to come within Wintringham.”

With an active Resident Association and a range of events and activities planned throughout the year, there are lots of opportunities for the community to meet up and enjoy Wintringham with friends, family and neighbours.
