CALA Homes North Home Counties has now started work on its latest development of high quality, modern properties at Wintringham, St Neots, following receipt of planning approval from Huntingdonshire District Council.
Construction works are now underway at Wintringham, which is being delivered by Master Developer Urban&Civic, alongside the work on the first Primary School. Set to form part of the new Eastern Gateway to St Neots, Wintringham will become a brand new community featuring 2,800 homes, two primary schools, community facilities, including a health centre and research and development business space, creative spaces, offices and industrial units.
‘CALA Homes at Wintringham’ will be situated on land south of Cambridge Road and once complete will feature 222 high quality new homes, with a mix of two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached homes, and one and two bed apartments, designed to meet the needs of a range of purchasers. 20% of the properties will also be allocated as affordable housing, for rental and shared equity tenures.
In keeping with the overall vision for the development, CALA will create an attractive setting for both new residents and surrounding neighbours, creating green and blue corridors to connect the local community to new parks and play areas.
Phillip Wright, head of planning and design at CALA Homes (North Home Counties), said: “We are pleased to have received planning approval and are delighted that we will be leading the way in delivering part of this exciting new community at Wintringham. We look forward to creating a high quality scheme of brand new high quality homes, as well as developing extensive areas of green open space which will be enjoyed by existing residents and the new community for many years to come.
Tim Leathes, Development Director for Urban&Civic, adds: “This is an exciting time for Wintringham, with works on the school already underway, the landscaping taking shape and CALA Homes set to deliver the first high quality homes in this vibrant location. We look forward to working with CALA to create this great new community at the eastern gateway of St Neots and to welcoming our first residents by this time next year.”
