Wintringham Community Day, organised by Wintringham Residents’ Association and supported by master developer Urban&Civic, welcomed over 500 people for a relaxed afternoon in the sun.

With a DJ playing summer hits throughout the event, revellers enjoyed traditional fairground games including hook-a-duck, a coconut shy and skittles, and a giant Connect Four brought some friendly competition from attendees of all ages.

A colourful inflatable bouncy castle took centre stage in the school hall, with younger children having a fantastic time playing with friends and making new ones.

Families settled in for an afternoon of fun, with deck chairs and picnic blankets scattered across the plaza.  With refreshments from Axel and Hop mobile bar, sour dough flatbread wraps from Nomadough food truck and frozen treats from an ice cream van, there was something to keep up everyone’s energy levels.

Christine Littlewood, Community Development Lead for Wintringham, said: “The theme for this year’s Mental Health Week was ‘community’ and Wintringham Community Day was the perfect event to kick it off!”

Wintringham Residents’ Association did a fantastic job organising the Community Day again this year, and I’d like to say a special thank you to all the volunteers who helped make it such a joyous event for the whole community.  Wintringham is a really special place to live, and it was lovely to see so many people come together to enjoy the sunshine, food and fairground games, as well as each other’s company.

Scott Jenner, Chair of Wintringham Residents’ Association said: “Wintringham Community Day gets bigger and better each year, and I’d like to thank everyone who helped make it happen – and everyone who came along to support it.  The weather was glorious, and it was fantastic to see so many residents meet up to enjoy the food, drink and entertainment.  There was a real community buzz, and it was a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon.”
