In front of the modern, orange-paneled Wintringham Primary Academy building, a large crowd of families and residents gather on a paved plaza. The event features colorful bunting flags, lounge chairs on a patch of grass in the foreground, and food trucks parked on either side, creating a vibrant community atmosphere under a bright sky.

Organised by the Wintringham Residents’ Association with support from Wintringham master developer Urban&Civic, the event brought together people of all ages for an afternoon of fun, friendship and community spirit.

Visitors enjoyed a fantastic selection of food and refreshments from Pimp My Fish, the Craft Beer Truck and an ice cream van. Deck chairs provided the perfect place to relax, while other residents brought picnic blankets to enjoy the sunshine with family and friends.

There was also plenty to keep younger visitors entertained, with activities including a bouncy castle, inflatable axe throwing, cactus ring toss and tenpin bowling, as well as craft and colouring activities available throughout the day.

The party atmosphere was enhanced by music from a live DJ and a special live performance from Dario Saxophone, creating a festival feel that kept people smiling all afternoon.

Stephen Ferguson, Chair of Wintringham Residents’ Association, said: “The Wintringham Community Day was a fantastic success, and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to enjoy everything on offer.  Events like this help create the connections that make Wintringham such a special place to live. None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers, their dedication, time and enthusiasm helped make the day such a success.”

The event highlighted the strong sense of community that continues to grow at Wintringham, providing opportunities for new and existing residents to meet, make friends and enjoy shared experiences.

Christine Littlewood, Community Development Lead for Wintringham, said:  “Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make Community Day such a special event. It was lovely to see the community enjoying the sunshine and spending time together with family and friends.”
